TAWASUT: Indonesian Journal of Moderate Islam focuses on the publication of high-quality scholarly articles addressing the dynamics of Islamic thought, Islamic practices, and Muslim civilization in the Nusantara region, particularly within the socio-religious contexts of Southeast Asian countries. The journal emphasizes the study of Moderate Islam (Islam Wasathiyah) as reflected in the traditions of tolerance, local wisdom, peaceful da‘wah, educational transformation, and socio-cultural adaptation among Muslim communities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Southern Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Cambodia, and other Southeast Asian regions.
The journal is intended to become an academic forum for discussing the intellectual richness, historical development, and contemporary transformation of Islam in the Malay-Indonesian world, while strengthening the contribution of Nusantara Islam to global Islamic discourse.
