Publication Ethics Statement

Majalah Ilmiah Momentum

Majalah Ilmiah Momentum is a peer-reviewed scientific journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. This statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aligns with best practices required by SINTA accreditation and DOAJ indexing.

This policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process: authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

1.1 Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate, objective, and transparent account of the research conducted. Data should be clearly represented and reproducible. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.

1.2 Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. All submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with significant similarity or plagiarism will be rejected.

1.3 Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Redundant publication (publishing the same research in multiple journals) is unethical and unacceptable.

1.4 Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to:

  • the conception or design of the work,

  • data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation,

  • drafting or revising the manuscript.

All co-authors must approve the final version and agree to submission.

1.5 Data Access and Retention

Authors should retain raw data and be prepared to provide access if required for editorial review.

1.6 Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research outcomes.

1.7 Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors discover significant errors after publication, they must promptly notify the editor to correct or retract the paper.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

2.1 Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published, based on:

  • scientific merit,

  • clarity,

  • relevance to the journal scope.

2.2 Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, citizenship, or political philosophy.

2.3 Confidentiality

Editors must ensure confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.

2.4 Conflict of Interest

Editors must not handle manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

2.5 Handling Ethical Misconduct

Editors will take appropriate action when ethical concerns arise, including:

  • plagiarism,

  • data fabrication or falsification,

  • duplicate publication,

  • unethical research practices.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
