Publication Ethics

The International Journal of Management, Business, and Social Sciences (IJMBS) is a peer-reviewed journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. IJMBS adheres to the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated fairly, transparently, and solely on their academic merit. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s originality, scholarly contribution, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Editors must:

  • Ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process.

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest in handling submissions.

  • Take appropriate action in cases of suspected research misconduct.

  • Issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions and contribute to improving the quality of manuscripts.

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.

  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.

  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest and withdraw if necessary.

  • Refrain from using unpublished information for personal advantage.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting to IJMBS must ensure that their work meets ethical standards in research and publication.

Authors must:

  • Present accurate and original research findings.

  • Properly acknowledge and cite all sources.

  • Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and citation manipulation.

  • Not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

  • Ensure that all listed authors have made substantial contributions and approve the final version of the manuscript.

  • Disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest.

  • Provide data transparency where appropriate and retain research data responsibly.

  • Promptly notify the journal if significant errors are discovered after publication.

For research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data, authors must comply with applicable ethical standards and provide ethical approval where required.

Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, and citation manipulation.

When allegations of misconduct arise, IJMBS will follow COPE guidelines in investigating the matter. Manuscripts found to contain serious ethical violations will be rejected. If misconduct is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, retraction, or other appropriate notice to maintain the integrity of the academic record.

Complaints and Appeals

IJMBS provides a structured process for handling complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions, peer review, or ethical concerns. All cases are handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with COPE principles.
