Abstract

The Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 caused a massive influx of refugees, including children, to neighboring countries, one of which was Moldova. As the country with the highest concentration of Ukrainian refugees in Eastern Europe, Moldova faces serious challenges in meeting the basic needs of refugee, especially children in the education sector. This study aims to analyze UNICEF's humanitarian assistance in ensuring the fulfillment of the educational rights of Ukrainian refugee children in Moldova during the period 2022–2023. Using the concept of child refugee rights and the humanitarian assistance framework, this study examines various UNICEF material and services assistances. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis techniques. The results show that UNICEF's role ranging from providing cognitive toys, providing meals in schools, distributing laptops, integrating Ukrainian children to Moldova education system, providing non-formal education, and establishing digital laboratorium.
